About Us

Cornalls perfecting a seafood recipe

Our displays are brimming with the freshest fish garnered from UK shores and around the world, featuring specialties from Cornish dayboats, and exotic offerings like red snapper, Sashimi grade yellowfin tuna, and kingfish, all sustainably sourced from trusted suppliers.

Relish the traditional flavours of kippers from the Isle of Man, and also Craster whose smoke house was recently awarded grade II listed status, and the esteemed John Ross “Balmoral” smoked salmon from Scotland, a choice of royalty. Our collection also boasts the celebrated Arbroath smokies, exquisite crabs and lobsters from Newlyn, tender mussels from Fleetwood, and succulent scallops from the Shetland Isles. There's more: brown shrimps, prawns, crayfish tails, squid, octopus, and Alaskan crab claws. Each product is a testament to our commitment to quality and variety.

Our Story

The story of Cornalls Seafood, formerly known as “Barkworths,” is one of passion, quality, and dedication, stretching over a century. Beginning with our own trawlers in the port of Hull, we've grown under the stewardship of proprietor Ian Cornall, a lifelong angler whose journey with us started in 1988 as an apprentice. His dedication and expertise have been pivotal in maintaining and improving our reputation for the selection, and quality of fish, and seafood available. Today, under the Cornalls name, we continue to go from strength to strength, embodying a legacy of exceptional seafood retail.

We invite you to visit us at the Shrewsbury Market Hall to experience this rich heritage. Join us at Cornalls Seafood, where every visit provides inspiration to explore the taste and tradition of our handpicked selection.
