Our Ethos

We love sourcing really fresh fish. There is such a buzz in unpacking a box of day-boat Cornish or Scarborough fish delivered the day after being landed. These days much of our fish is sourced directly from small suppliers, family companies and day-boats. We love handling fish, preparing fish, cooking fish and eating fish! We hope to inspire others to do so too.

We realise sustainability is an important issue, but also recognise that the word is often misleading and manipulated by supermarkets. What we can say is that if everyone bought their fish in its prime form, from a quality fishmonger, who in turn bought from small owner day boats, there would be plenty of fish in the sea. There are plenty of varieties of really tasty fish caught off our coast and it is our aim to provide a high-quality range of choice to you, the customer.

Sourced from the North of England or Scotland, our smoked haddock isn’t cured with any additives or colouring giving a mild, smoky taste.¬†

Mediterranean Seabass

Our seabass is farmed in the Mediterranean usually from Turkey or Greece. Farmed Bass is a consistently good quality and comes scaled and pinboned – perfect for pan frying.

Cod Loin

Our cod loin is sourced from the cold waters of the North Sea and Atlantic Ocean. The loin is the prime chunky piece of the cod fillet lending well to pan frying and roasting.

Dressed Crab

The traditional way of presenting crab meat, with little washing up! Cornish white and brown crab meat dressed in a natural crab shell, all 100% handpicked.

Royal Appointment smoked salmon and a little taste of heaven. We have partnered with John Ross Jnr of Aberdeen now over twenty years for the very best salmon.
